With the new focus on Pharmacists to provide more healthcare services, Pharmacy Technicians are needed so that pharmacists can spend more time with their patients.

Pharmacy Technician Program Information

The Pharmacy Technician program at Robertson College delivers training and education based on the National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities Association (NAPRA) competencies for Pharmacy Technicians at entry-to-practice as well as the Canadian Pharmacy Technician Educators Association (CPTEA) Educational Outcomes for Pharmacy Technicians at entry-to-practice.  

Pharmacy Technician courses include:

  • Learning to prepare prescriptions and compound medications
  • Learning how to correctly label and fill prescriptions
  • Calculating proper dosages and dispense medications
  • Effectively communicating with clients during drop-off or pick-up of prescriptions
  • Obtaining CPR Certification

The Pharmacy Technician program culminates with a work practicum in both retail and institutional practices.
