Pharmacy Technicians are valuable members of the pharmaceutical team; they develop professional relationships with patients, work collaboratively with other health care providers, prepare, dispense and compound medications, manage inventory, perform administrative tasks and assist in the provision of pharmaceutical care.
Eastern College provides a comprehensive, learner-centered, training program for Pharmacy Technicians in Nova Scotia. Graduates of the Pharmacy Technician program will graduate with in-depth knowledge and the skillset required to work in this profession with its expanding scope of practice.
The Pharmacy Technician program at Eastern College adheres to standards set by the Canadian Council for the Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP), which ensures that graduates get the education necessary to meet the entry to practice competency requirements developed by regulators for pharmacy technicians across Canada.
Eastern College’s Halifax Campus has been granted Full Accreditation Status by CCAPP for the period July 2022 – June 30, 2027.
