Legal Assistant Diploma Information

If you are fascinated by the law but are more interested in the administrative side than being in the courtroom, consider a career as a Legal Assistant.  A Legal Assistant, sometimes known as a Legal Secretary, requires specialized training to provide legal support to law firms and legal departments.

At Robertson College, the Legal Assistant course will teach you about office procedures in a legal environment and will provide you with skills in legal transcription, records and file maintenance, and conducting legal research.  You will also:

  • Gain an understanding of Canadian Law
  • Be introduced to areas of law such as:
    • Corporate & Commercial Law
    • Wills & Estate Law
    • Family Law 
    • Civil Litigation 
    • Real Estate Law
