Professional chefs create menus, and create memorable dining experiences for people who love food; and who doesn’t love food? Some chefs create culinary delights for celebrities and royalty and thanks to the popularity of cooking shows on television, many chefs are celebrities in their own right.
If you love creating mouthwatering dishes and think a career in the Culinary Arts might be in your future, the Culinary Arts Level 1 Certificate program will provide the training you need.
At the Culinary School at LaSalle College Vancouver, students can learn the fundamental concepts, skills and techniques involved in basic cooking. Students begin with the basis of culinary techniques, knife skills, sanitation and safety, ingredients and presentation.
Training includes kitchen operations and how to balance the workload of a busy kitchen, hygiene and safety, knife skills and nutrition. Hands-on experience in the kitchen will teach students various cooking techniques, ingredients, food prep, and presentation techniques.
