Community Support Worker Program Information
The Community Support Worker diploma program is designed to prepare you with the knowledge and skills you need to be able to provide physical, psychological and social support.
The Community Support Worker courses enable you to:
- Gain an understanding of Adolescent Growth and Development enabling you to provide guidance and assistance through this crucial period life
- Learn to assist with activities of daily living and safety in the role of a special needs assistant in a classroom
- Acquire counselling techniques for children, youth and adults
- Gain an understanding of the nature of addictions
- Gain insight into the various issues associated with mental illness
- Understand Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) and how to implement an ABA care plan
- Understand the physical, mental and social aspects of aging and the common challenges associated with end-of-life care
