What is Accounting?

Accounting is one of the oldest professions and accountants can be found in every type of industry.   Accounting is the recording, summarizing, analyzing and reporting of financial transaction, regardless of the company’s size.  Being able to review and analyze transactions and records, allows interested parties to determine the financial stability of the company. Without accounting, owners, investors, analysts and other end users would not be able to see the company’s profitability or liquidity.
