BCIT launches new Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mining and Mineral Resource Engineering
The British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) has launched a new Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mining and Mineral Resource Engineering. According to BCIT it will be the only degree in Canada that combines skills such as mineral exploration geology with mine engineering.
Robert Stevens, Associate Dean of Engineering and Natural Resources states that the degree will close the knowledge gap that often exists between geologists and engineers and that it's addressing a direct industry need for qualified persons with a diverse skill set. Graduates will be prepared for a diversity of leading positions in the natural resource sector across BC, Canada, or around the world.
BCIT has a 50 year track record of offering the Mineral Exploration and Mining Diploma along with a great number of other relevant engineering and trades programs.
Open to applications beginning October 1st (or next business day).
