Administrative Assistant

At Southern Careers Institute, you will gain the skills business rely on to keep them organized. Southern Careers Institute’s Administrative Assistant program teaches you keyboarding skills, how to use common office software, office procedures, fundamental Accounting principles and more.

Business Administration

Graduate from Southern Careers Institute’s Business Administration program with the knowledge and skills necessary to support business operations or start your own business. In this program you will learn:

  • How to manage business finances
  • Strategies to start, grow, and market your own business
  • How to serve and support internal and external customers

Medical

Medical Assistant

SCI offers career training for medical assistants that can lead to medical assistant certifications and entrance into the healthcare field. You will lean essential skills such as reading vital signs, drawing blood, performing EKG monitoring and other clinical skills.

Medical Assistants from SCI can sit for these certifications:

Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

Southern Careers Institute is the career training school to help get you into a career in the health care field. The Medical Billing and Coding Specialist Program prepares you to work in doctor’s offices, hospitals, emergency care offices, clinics, and other medical offices/facilities.

You’ll also have the opportunity to work toward the following Medical Billing and Coding Certifications:

  • CBCS: Certified Billing and Coding Specialist
  • CMAA: Medical Administrative Assistant
  • EHRS: Electronic Health Records Specialist
  • Microsoft Word Certified

Medical Office Specialist

Learn the skills needed to run and manage a medical office with SCI’s Medical Office Specialist program. In the Medical office specialist program, you will learn keyboarding skills, medical office duties, medical terminology, and medical office procedures.

Medical Office Specialists trained at SCI may be eligible for these certifications:

  • Certified Medical Administrative Assistant
  • Microsoft Excel Certified
  • Microsoft Outlook Certified
  • Microsoft Power Point Certified
  • Microsoft Word Certified

Pharmacy Technician

In SCI’s Pharmacy Technician program you will learn:

  • Basic pharmacology and compounding skills
  • Pharmacy operations and procedures
  • Prescription processing
  • About FDA Drug Safety Rules and Regulations

Certifications

Pharmacy Technicians trained at SCI may be eligible for these certifications:

  • PTCE: Pharmacy Technician Certification
  • Microsoft Word Certified

Note:  *All pharmacy technician applicants will be required to pass a criminal background check, which will include fingerprints, and may be subject to a drug test as a condition of employment.

Trades

Electrical Technician

Take the first step towards a career with a strong, competitive job market with training from SCI’s Electrical Technician program. The Electrical Technician program teaches the basic theoretical knowledge and skills on installation, operation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems for both residential and commercial property, instrumentation, services and panels, and motors and motor controls. You will also be given instruction in the principles of electronics and electrical systems, wiring, power transmission, safety, appliances, estimation, testing, inspection, and applicable codes and standards.

HVAC

SCI's HVAC program prepares you for a career working with air conditioning, heating systems, and refrigeration at both the commercial and residential levels. You will learn to install, maintain, and repair essential temperature control equipment by training on a variety of HVAC systems and will receive instruction on piping using a wide variety of materials.

  • Green Certification
  • R410A Certified
  • Indoor Air Quality Certification
  • TDLR ACR Certification
