TD Scholarships for Community Leadership are awarded to students in their last year of high school or CEGEP (in Quebec) who have demonstrated leadership in improving their community.
An Occupational Therapy Assistant assists or administers rehabilitation treatments under the direction a Physiotherapist and/or an Occupational Therapist. If you have an interest in human development, functional movement and helping people recover from injuries, a career as an Occupational Therapy Assistant may be right for you.
In this program you will learn occupational therapy techniques for both children, and adults. Courses also include studying anatomy, physiology, therapeutic exercise and the use of advanced technological equipment used in physiotherapy.
In addition receiving a registered and approved Diploma as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, graduates will be eligible for canfitproTM Personal Training Specialist Certification.
Graduates will be prepared for Occupational Therapy Assistant positions in hospitals, rehabilitation centres and clinics, long-term care facilities or can become certified as a Personal Training Specialist and pursue a career as a Personal Trainer.
