Automotive Programs

Automotive Technology

Start your automotive career by training to be an automotive technician at Lincoln Tech. Get individual, hands-on training, using techniques and industry-standard tools. You’ll  have the opportunity to learn to:

  • Work in fully equipped auto bays using computerized diagnostic equipment and specialty tools*
  • Take apart and reassemble gasoline engines, transmissions and transaxles
  • Train with ASE-certified instructors who bring years of professional experience to your classes
  • Learn to operate exhaust gas analysis equipment and repair exhaust systems

Collision Repair and Finishing

A career in collision repair offers you the opportunity to help bring cars "back to life" as well as modify existing auto bodies and paint jobs. Repairing and restoring vehicles takes a unique blend of hands-on skills and artistic talent and Lincoln Tech’s Auto body schools can help you get both. You will receive collision repair training through a unique blended learning format, where you will:

  • Learn to repair damaged metal panels using body hammers and paint-less dent repair techniques
  • Learn how to airbrush, apply decals as well as eye-catching automotive art
  • Be able to work on special project cars that really let you put your skills and artistic talent to work
  • Visit local dealerships and service centers to learn from professionals and industry experts

Diesel Technology

Diesel technicians don’t just service 18-wheel trucks – they maintain heavy equipment, power generators, and other industrial machines. Lincoln Tech maximizes diesel technology training by bringing diesel engines, tractors, trailers and off-road construction equipment right into their giant diesel shops on campus. You will have the opportunity to learn how to:

  • Perform a complete disassembly and assembly of a diesel engine
  • Complete tune-ups and perform wheel alignments on tractors and trailers using computerized equipment
  • Service, repair and replace the components of truck suspension systems and frames
  • Learn how to identify, locate and diagnose the components of truck brake systems, including hydraulic, air-over-hydraulic or air brake systems 
  • Service and repair diesel fuel systems such as the Common Rail System, Detroit Diesel Electronic Controls (DDEC), Caterpillar EUI and others
  • Train inside A/C and Electrical Accessories classrooms where you’ll find simulators such as starting/charging systems, power windows, locks and other electrical systems

Heavy Equipment

At Lincoln Tech, learn to troubleshoot, repair and maintain the electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, drive train, steering and suspension systems on a wide variety of heavy equipment such as trucks, heavy-duty machinery, off-road equipment, construction equipment and more.

Culinary Arts

Culinary Arts and Food Services

For people like you, cooking isn’t just something you have to do – it’s an exploration into ingredients and flavors that create works of art, with plates as your canvas. Your Culinary Arts School training from professional chefs at Lincoln Culinary Institute (LCI) schools will teach you how to master a variety of culinary and baking and pastry techniques. At Lincoln Culinary Institute you will:

  • Receive culinary training in French, Asian, Mediterranean, Latin and American cooking
  • Work with industry-standard equipment and tools Master advanced cooking skills like presentation and knife skills
  • Enter the world of modern gastronomy through the newest cooking methods such as SousVide and thermal immersion, which give food added depth and dimension
  • Experience cuisine from around the world, and study their ingredients, flavors and cultures
  • Study menu planning and nutrition, as well as many other principles of Food Science

Health Sciences

Dental Assistant

Dental Assistant training at Lincoln Tech prepares you to sit for the Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) and Infection Control (ICE) portions of the Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) exam. At Lincoln Tech’s Dental Assistant Schools, through a Blended Learning curriculum, you will also be able to complete some of your coursework at home. In class you will:

  • Practice Dental Assistant training on a patient simulator manikin (Typodont)
  • Learn how to take safety measures, impressions, develop X-rays and more
  • Lean proper chair-side techniques to help dentists perform oral surgery, dental implant placement, orthodontic procedures, and other cosmetic and aesthetic treatments
  • Acquire dental office admin skills including basic accounting, coding and billing and record keeping
  • Get hands-on training by practicing in dental labs and sterilization rooms
  • Take part in a clinical externship under the supervision of a licensed dentist

Massage Therapy

Millions of people book massages every year, and as more people are learning about the benefits of massage therapy this field is projected to grow by double digits by 2026.* In the Massage Therapy Training program you will have the chance to learn how to care for clients of all ages by providing stress relief and helping to heal physical ailments.

Medical Assistant

Medical Assistant training in Lincoln Tech’s Medical Assistant program enables you to build your skills through experience that also prepares you to sit for the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) exam offered by the American Medical Technologists (AMT).

Medical Coding and Billing

As part of the curriculum at Lincoln Tech's Medical Coding & Billing program, you will have a chance to learn how to use industry software and acquire other specialized skills so you are prepared to sit for the American Health Information Management Associating (AHIMA) Certified Coding Associate (CCA) exam. You will:

  • Learn how to run an office by making appointments, taking phone messages, transcribing medical reports, and submitting insurance claims
  • Train on specialized medical coding & billing software and learn International Classification of Diseases (ICD) coding

Medical Office Assistant

Medical Office Assistants are also known as Medical Secretaries, or Medical Receptionists, experience the rewarding aspects of working with patients but without hands-on clinical patient care responsibilities. Through a simulation of a medical office setting, you may learn:

  • Industry-standard electronic medical records software and Microsoft Office
  • How to document patient exams, diagnoses, disorders and coding
  • Become familiar with International Classification of Diseases (ICD) coding guidelines, and conventions
  • Complete administrative courses that include processing insurance claims, handling payments, scheduling appointments and coordinating laboratory procedures

You will also participate in an externship to put what you've learned into practice.

Patient Care

Lincoln’s Patient Care Technician and Patient Care Associate programs provide the training you will need to provide patient care such as taking and interpreting vital signs, collecting specimens and ensuring patient comfort. You will also be trained in phlebotomy and electrocardiography fundamentals.

If you’re already a Certified Nursing Assistant, training to earn Patient Care certification increases your marketability by building on the skills you already possess. Graduates of Lincoln’s program are eligible to sit for several certification exams, including EKG Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider, and Certified Patient Care Technician.

Practical Nursing

Pursue a healthcare career through Lincoln Tech’s Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) training program and play a vital role in the medical industry. At Lincoln Tech’s Practical Nursing program you will:

  • Practice hands-on in simulated medical and nursing labs
  • Develop skills you’ll use every day as a Practical Nurse such as taking and reading vital signs, immobilizing injured limbs, practicing infection control, dressing wounds and administering medications
  • Practice drug & IV therapy and data collection
  • Prepare to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN)

Information Technology

Computer and Network Support Technician

Lincoln Tech's Computer Networking programs can prepare you to begin an entry-level technical career. Lincoln Tech offers two professional computer networking tracks depending on the state, Computer Networking, or Computer and Network Support Technician. Earning the skills that qualify you as a computer networking professional is an excellent way to join an industry that needs a steady supply of skilled workers.

Skilled Trades

CNC Machining and Manufacturing

A CNC (Computerized Numerical Control) Machinist needs sophisticated programming skills to bring products from concept to design, to reality, using raw materials such as plastics, metal and wood. The cutting-edge CNC Machining program at Lincoln Tech trains students in the fundamentals of milling, lathing, CAD systems, concepts in 5-axis machining technology, programing CNC equipment and more!

Electrical and Electronics Programs

High and low-voltage electrical systems are essential to everyday life, and Lincoln Tech’s Electrician and Electronics training programs are designed to meet today’s demands. There are three different program options based on campus location, (Electrician Training Program, Electrical and Electronic Systems Technology and Electronic Engineering Technology) that prepare you for a career installing and servicing residential, commercial and industrial systems.

HVAC

Lincoln Tech's HVAC program introduces you to Green Technology; green alternatives to heating and cooling systems, as well as Solar Thermal and Geothermal Green Technologies. Lincoln Tech is first school in the country that incorporates Energy Auditing courses from the Green Mechanical Council.

Upon graduation from Lincoln Tech’s HVAC program, you can pursue several other certifications, including Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification testing.

Welding

At Lincoln Tech’s welding schools across the country, prepare you for a career in one of the country’s most in-demand skilled trades. At Lincoln Tech you will:

  • Practice welding plate metal, carbon steel plates, aluminum, and stainless steel
  • Make precision cuts in steel plates and pipe using superheated gasses
  • Learn how metal is formed from a liquid to solid
  • Get hands-on training in a variety of welding procedures including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG), Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc Gas Welding (GTAW/TIG)
  • Complete a 10-hour OSHA approved safety orientation
