No previous office administration experience is required as the intensive Legal Administrative Assistant program covers all aspects of working in a law office.
You will learn how a legal office runs and the specific administrative duties required. Advanced keyboarding, transcription and computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) are all part of the curriculum. In addition, students receive an Internet and Core Computing Certification.
One of the most valuable aspects of a Legal Administrative Assistant is their familiarity with the Canadian legal system. During this program, you learn about the court structure and legal rights. Courses also cover all forms of law: corporate and commercial, family, criminal, real estate and conveyance, and wills and estates.
Following a practicum, upon graduation you will receive a Legal Administrative Assistant Diploma, and can also choose to further your training by entering the Paralegal program.
