TD Scholarships for Community Leadership are awarded to students in their last year of high school or CEGEP (in Quebec) who have demonstrated leadership in improving their community.
Law clerks function under the direct supervision of a lawyer and are able to work in areas of law that include criminal law, family law, civil litigation, real estate and wills and estates, environmental law, corporate work and health care.
The Law Clerk program at triOS College is offered in affiliation with the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario (ILCO). You will receive ILCO membership and preparation for the ILCO exams. Training includes how to conduct legal research and writing, rules of evidence, preparing contracts, understanding various areas of law and more. You will also receive training on the latest legal software such as PCLaw, Automated Civil Litigation (ACL3), Teraview and Conveyancer, Fast Company, Divorcemate, Estate-a-base and Express Scribe.
You will also participate in an 8-week Law Clerk Internship.
Students who successfully complete the Wills & Estates, Corporate Law, Real Estate Law and Civil & Debt Collector courses are eligible to write the associated ILCO provincial exams
