TD Scholarships for Community Leadership are awarded to students in their last year of high school or CEGEP (in Quebec) who have demonstrated leadership in improving their community.
The Health Care Assistant (HCA) program at Vancouver Career College provides the specialized training needed to work as an intermediate or extended caregiver working with elderly or disabled patients.
The HCA program teaches you the fundamental medical knowledge you will need to succeed in this industry, including medical terminology, physiology, chronic conditions. You will also learn to monitor patient health, keep patient records, and create a support network for a special needs patient and his or her family.
You will also be required to complete two clinical care supervised practicum placements in order to put your skills into practice.

This Health Care Assistant program has been granted a full, five-year recognition status by the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry. Graduates of this program are eligible for registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
