The role of an Early Childhood Assistant or ECE Assistant is to provide a nurturing environment for children and to promote their social, emotional, intellectual and physical development.
The Early Childcare Assistant diploma program at Medix College of Healthcare is designed to equip childcare workers with the skills, knowledge and experience for employment as assistants in day cares and early learning centres, working under the guidance of an Early Childhood Educator.
At Medix College you will learn a diverse skill set which will not only help you gain employment, but excel in you new profession. Medix uses small class sizes, and group work along with practice interviews and exercises in self-awareness to give you a comprehensive understanding of the environment in which you will work.
You will also gain first-hand experience during an off-site practicum that enables you to begin putting into practice everything you learned through the comprehensive Early Childcare Assistant program. The practicum lets you exercise and perfect you new skills in an environment that is similar to the work environments you will work in upon graduation.
The Early Childcare Assistant program has been development and accredited by the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) and provides the foundational skills for graduates to move into an Early Childhood Education program.
Medix College has established relationships with many employers in the field, so employers often will contact them with job openings before posting to the general public, which gives students and graduates an advantage in the hiring process.
