What is ESL?
English as a Second Language (ESL), is an English language study program for nonnative speakers.
The term TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) is often used interchangeably with TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), however when one is teaching English to students who move to an English speaking country it is referred to TESL and when one is teaching English to students in their own country it is referred to as TEFL.
ESL programs are designed to improve students’ conversational, grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing skills.
Being an ESL teacher provides an opportunity to work with people of many cultures both at home and abroad. Well-qualified teachers are in high demand with highly acclaimed academic institutions in countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, China and South Korea.
