Burger King Scholars Program

The BURGER KING Scholars program has awarded more than $28 million in scholarships to high school students, BURGER KING® employees and their children across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. In 2016, the Foundation awarded $3 million to more than 2,800 students in North America.

Scholarship grants range from $1,000 to $50,000, and are intended to help students offset the cost of attending college or post-secondary vocational/technical school. Recipients are selected based on their grade point average, work experience, extracurricular activities and community service.  The Application Window is open from October 15 to December 15 each year.


Applicants must apply within the application period and meet the following criteria:

  • Have a strong academic record with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5
  • Be passionate about serving the community, and
  • Be a high school senior, BURGER KING® employee, spouse/domestic partner or child of an employee.
